the life of A, B, and C
We visited the aquarium another day. Colin was very fascinated with all of the water creatures. A little too much in my opinion.
Before bedtime or nap time they both got extremely slap happy. They thought this was the funniest thing ever.
To think after the above pic that soon to follow was this.
Before we left on Saturday we had to stop one last time at the beach. It was great enjoying the sun at the beach for the first time and eating some delicious breakfast.
Colin had some major digging to do.
Pete, Carrie, and Grace thanks for helping make this a great trip!
Colin and I went to California from Tuesday to Saturday to visit our cousins in the LA area. It was a great trip! Who can complain with great company, great weather, and a cozy spot to stay. Of course we spent the majority of our time at the beach and we went to the aquarium another day. Enjoy the pics in the California folder.
I’m pretty sure he could have bummed on the beach all day. Oh and me too.
This was a fun game that we played. At first Colin wasn’t very excited about the freezing cold water but after a couple of minutes he couldn’t get enough of it.
It was a little cold one evening at the beach. The one bonus was that it made the water a lot warmer.
These two played great together. He has been asking about Gracie ever since we got home.
Nap times didn’t always line up between the two kids and so one of the morning Colin and I went to the neighborhood park.
To wrap up today’s post I leave you with this. I LOVE THE BEACH!!!! More Cali pictures to come later.

Colin decided last weekend that he was tired of being locked in a cage and began climbing out of his crib. After about the 9th time of him climbing out of his crib we decided that it was time for the big bed.

Don’t let this picture fool you…. He may look relaxed and you may think he is ready for bed but he is really just waiting for you to shut the door so he can crawl out of his bed. After a day of walking him back to his bed a gazillion times we finally got out this amazing light I had ordered a while back in preparation for the day when he wouldn’t be caged in. It is called GoodNite Lite. (www.goodnitelite.com) Mainly you set the time for when he is going to bed and a moon appears and then you set the time for when you want him to wake up and a sun appears. After about 2 days of the light he now understands the concept and is actually staying in his room until the nightlite sun comes up. His nap times have been cut in half and he is getting up at 6:30 but he is still a happy little camper all day. He definitely takes after his dad in the sleep department.
So a week from Friday Colin decided that he was ready to start being a big boy by going to the bathroom on the potty. He happened to ask to use the potty one morning and so he went and I gave him an M&M. It didn’t take him long to realize that the more times he went on the toilet the more M&M’s he would get. So as of today he is wearing underwear all day except for bedtime and today is the first naptime with his underwear on. I’m keeping my fingers crossed he is dry when he wakes up. Of course mom and dad had everything planned out to begin the potty training process after Kara and Keiths wedding and after I drive to California to visit some relatives. We definitely aren’t complaining as he has done a really good job with relatively few accidents. I guess there is no looking back now. Our little guy is growing up.
We had a crazy 2 weeks of throwing birthday, wine, a bridal parties so Colin and I went up to the cabin for a night. The weather was gorgeous and it we returned much more relaxed. Of course our trip would have been much better with B. Although I think he was secretly excited to catch up on all the movies at the movie theater.
Curious George even made a guest appearance to play some basketball.
We drove to the Fish Hatchery, which is like 5 minutes from the cabin. It definitely didn’t seem as amazing as I remember it when I was a child.
Then we had a picnic lunch by Christopher Creek. Did I mention the weather was gorgeous???
We watched Anna for the day and began our time together having breakfast in bed and watching Sesame Street while I got ready. Anna was way more interested in breakfast and Colin than Sesame Street.
After nap time someone found the marshmallows so they had to have a few. This gave both of them a ton of energy.
This was really cute…. Anna was flipping through Colin’s picture book and Colin was telling her all the people that were inside it.
We ended the evening at Great Aunt Pam and Uncle David’s for dinner. Apparently Kayla was the only one that came prepared with her swimsuit.
That’s how you do it… stand outside of the pool and squirt everyone inside the pool.
We had an ultra sound last Monday which we now know we are having a baby girl. Her heartbeat was great and everything seems to be going well. Of course she weighed in a week earlier than my due date. The ultra sound said the due date would be around Oct 11th and our official due date is around Oct 18th. We will have to see when she decides to make her appearance.
We are husband and wife and son learning to love each other more and more each day and to embrace the nuances that make one another unique.
