The kids experienced Disneyland for their second time and like last time they had a great time. We are looking forward to next year when hopefully Sydney will be tall enough to join in on all the rides Colin can.

It was fun to explore Cars Land. Colin lucked out as he got to go on Radiator Springs twice in a row because Sydney was not tall enough.

Sydney was so excited to wear her princess dress and meet some of them. I think you can tell by the look in her face from this picture. :) Her favorite ride again this year was the Little Mermaid. The people finally told us to just stay seated and they would send us through again without having to go get back in line.

I just like pictures with these goofy glasses. ;)

Colin has a list that goes on and on of his favorite rides….. Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Star Tours, Winnie the Pooh, and Radiator Springs in Cars Land. I have never seen Colin walk so much without whining. He loves rides!

You can always guarantee this look after leaving Disneyland. These kids were pooped. I think Brandon and I should have taken a picture of us as I’m sure we looked pretty special too. We did have one of the days where it poured rain and then hailed on us. Of course we had to squeeze in a ride where we stood outside during that time and then the rest of the day was off and on sprinkles. It is very true that lines are way shorter or not existent when it is rainy and cloudy out at Disneyland. It was one nonstop day of off a ride and right on to another.

The Funnies of the Day

27 Feb

Colin and Sydney make me chuckle constantly.  I thought I would share some of the stories that I have been lucky enough to have heard or seen in the last 24 hours.

Sydney walks back into the house pulling up her pants and saying, “I showed them (Colin and his 2 friends) my butt so they would laugh.”  I said,  ”I think we can think of another way to make them laugh besides showing them your butt.”  She continues, “But that makes them REALLY laugh.”

We are riding in the car and Sydney announces very boldly, but also looking for a reaction from Colin, “I know everything.”  Colin of course disagrees and says, “You don’t know everything.”  Sydney continues to repeat herself knowing that she has Colin all excited.  Colin then asks, ” Mom, Sydney says she knows everything, does she?”  So I say, knowingly that Sydney is being silly, lets see if she does in fact know everything.  I ask Sydney,  ”What is 2+2?” Her answer was equals.  Then I say, “Equals what?”  She thinks about it for a bit and then says, “4.”  Colin and I look at each other in amazement and smile and tell her nice job Sydney.  I guess she taught Colin and I that indeed she does know everything.  ;)

Sydney and I are finishing up in the bathroom and we come out to Colin getting up off the floor and he tells us that a customer (meaning his customer) just walked right past him and didn’t give him any money.  I ask, “Why would someone just give you money?”  He says, “Because I was break dancing for her and you are to give someone money when they perform for you.”  I guess we need to be getting Colin a tip jar for his birthday.  ;)

Christmas Time in AZ: PART 2

16 Jan

Santa does follow you to AZ. :) We stayed in a hotel on Christmas Eve that had two rooms and a living area in the middle. It worked out great and we even had some time to visit the pool/spa before heading out.

Thanks Guinea for the present!

We then made our way for some more present time at Grandpa and Grammy’s house.

Brandon and I headed up to Tucson to see Keith and Kara’s new place and just happened to have some extra time to visit some wineries.

We went up to Payson to sled and play in the snow.

Sydney loved eating the snow.

Fun afternoon!

Then our plan was to go back to the cabin for some hot chocolate and relax but that was short lived as it started to snow pretty hard and so we hustled and got out of there.

This is one place I sure do miss.

Happy New Year!

Christmas Time in AZ: PART 1

15 Jan

Well we are back from AZ and are all settled back in. Here is a glimpse of the fun times in AZ!

We made it just in time to experience Night in Bethlehem at my parents church.

We went and checked out lights at a lot of different places.

Made cookies with Mimi.

Cruised around in Uncle Brandons jeep.

Went to church and took some pictures before opening presents on Christmas Eve.

Opened lots of great presents!

Then ended the evening with a hay ride through the neighborhood looking at luminaries and lights.

Christmas Train

23 Dec

We rode on the Christmas train from Sunol to Niles and then back to Sunol.

Some friends joined in on the fun. The kids seem to enjoy going back and forth between the cars.

They had a special visitor that came on the train.

They were thrilled!

Good ‘ol Guinea

If Guinea Go Willey survives his life expectancy then I will be SHOCKED!

Christmas Light Parade

17 Dec

Downtown Pleasanton had their annual light parade at the beginning of December. It was a fun way to kick off the Christmas season.

They had lots of gaps between the people in the parade but these three seemed to figure out a way to entertain themselves.

Sydney is very proud of her puppy and mini cage.

The parade was almost rained out but it fortunately held off until after dinner when we had to walk up the hill in the pouring rain. ;) Oops…. I guess next time it is predicted to rain but isn’t at the moment we should still drive the car down the hill.

Christmas Tree Decorating

16 Dec

Something that our kids really enjoy doing every year is decorating the Christmas tree. Not only the big tree but the little trees that Colin and Sydney have in each of their rooms. It is really fun to watch them decorate their own tree and watch how each year they start to not clump the ornaments together as much.

Social Butterfly

9 Dec

Colin has been a social butterfly lately with having play dates at our house and going to other kids houses after school.
